Below you can find our booking terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before booking, and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Booking and our contract

1.     When you make a booking with us, you do so on behalf of yourself and any other persons included in your booking. Where you are making a booking on behalf of others, you must have their authority to do so; if they are under 18 years of age, you must have the authority of their parents or guardians. Upon booking, we enter into a contract with you, effective from the date we issue confirmation of your place at the camp.

1.0       ENROLMENT

1.1         On the receipt of your registration form, relevant documents and the €200 deposit, Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden will send a booking confirmation to confirm your place on the camp as well as an invoice by email for the remaining fees. Please note that this does not represent a confirmation of a visa or travel document.

2.0       PAYMENT

2.1          The full camp cost for one week is €1200. If two weeks are booked together then the price for two weeks is €2200, if three weeks are booked the price is €3200.

2.2 Day camp costs are €120 per day with a minimum booking of 5 days.

2.3          For non-visa nationals, your place on the camp can only be confirmed after a non-refundable deposit of €200 has been made. All fees are to be paid 6 weeks prior to the start of the camp.

2.4          For students requiring a visa to study in the Germany, visa confirmation letters are only issued upon full payment of tuition fees.

2.5          For all students, the relevant documents are sent by email or post. Other options and couriers are available at an extra cost. Please contact us for more information.

2.6          Payments can be made either by bank transfer, by credit/debit card or by Western Union International transfer. A bank transfer requires a €17 bank charge and the following details:

3.0       CAMP FEE

        3.1          The deposit of €200 is non-refundable.

3.2          Should a student’s visa be refused, then all fees, except for non-refundable fees, will be refunded, but only upon receipt of the visa refusal letter.

3.3          If the number of students falls below the minimum of four, Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden may reschedule and/or reduce class hours.


4.1          The minimum age for students is 13 years old when accompanied by a parent, guardian or leader of a group.

4.2        The minimum age for students who are not accompanied in this manner is 14 years old.

4.3          All students who are under 18 years of age are required to send a signed parental consent form and proof of travel arrangements at the same time as their registration form. Bookings cannot be confirmed until Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden has received a signed parental consent form.


5.1          Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden understands its responsibility for duty of care of its students. All Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden staff adhere to the policies and procedures for care of students under 18 years of age.

5.2          Students must obtain travel insurance in their own country to cover events such as illness, accidents or loss of money and/or property. The camp is not responsible for loss, damage or expenses resulting from these causes.

5.3          Your insurance should also cover loss of tuition fees if you have to leave early.

5.4          Medical treatment in Germany is not free for international students so you must obtain medical insurance in your home country before travelling to Germany.


6.1          Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden does not accept liability for any loss, damage or misadventure suffered whilst at the camp, at the accommodation or during transportation that we arrange.

6.2          Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden reserves the right to:

  • Alter dates, fees and details in the publicity, brochure and website without prior notice.

  • Change teachers or timetables at any time during the course.

  • Not accept admission or dismiss any student in the event of poor attendance or misconduct.

  • Reschedule and/or reduce class hours should the number of students enrolled fall below the minimum of four.

  • Not accept applications from students under 16 years old if unaccompanied by a parent/guardian/group leader.

  • Take pictures during the camp that will be used for marketing and commercial purposes, on electronic and printed material, as well as on social media. If you would wish not to have these pictures used please email us before the start of the camp.


7.1           The following items are included in the booking:

  • Tuition in your chosen course (e.g. Language Studies: English, Language Studies: German, or Intercultural Studies)

  • Individual tutorials and feedback from tutors

  • Accommodation at CJD Berchtesgaden for the duration of your stay, including:

    • En-suite single room(s) or twin room(s) with a shared bathroom

    • Full board food and drink (3 meals a day, plus drinks)

  • All activities, excursions and entertainment organised by our camp leaders

  • Study materials

  • Internet access

  • Use of self-study areas, where applicable

  • End of course certificate

7.2           The following items are not included in the booking:

  • Student travel insurance

  • Bank charges made by your bank for any transactions

  • Transport to and from the camp, unless arranged with us beforehand

  • Additional drinks, sweets, shopping or presents purchased during activities, excursions or entertainment

  • Costs associated with obtaining relevant travel documentation, including:

    • Passport or visa fees and any or any other expenses arising from failure to hold the correct documentation or inability to present it when necessary

    • Any medical expenses incurred whether or not covered by the individuals insurance

    • Travel insurance including cover for the cancellation or curtailment of the holiday and cover tuition fees

8.0        GROUP DETAILS

8.1           It is the responsibility of each group leader/guardian to ensure their group/student is in possession of all relevant travel documentation including visa documentation and passports where necessary. Check with the relevant embassy whether you will require a visa for your group/student.

9.0        FREE PLACES

9.1           To ensure adequate supervision, Intercultural Camps, Berchtesgaden offers generous free places for staff accompanying a group, usually at a ratio of 1 - 10 for a group.

10.0       SAFETY

10.1        Fully equipped infirmary on site as well as suitably qualified staff members are available 24 hours a day.

11.0       TRAVEL

11.1        We can organize airport transfers from Salzburg Airport (SZG) on request at an additional charge.
